Open Burning Prohibited
The burning of rubbish, leaves, trash, garbage, building materials and other combustibles is totally prohibited.
Outdoor Cooking or Recreational Fires
Outdoor cooking fires in open or closed charcoal grills are allowed when used in a responsible and safe manner.
- All cooking fires must be attended at all times by at least one responsible adult, age 18 or older, from the ignition of the fire until the fire is completely extinguished.
- Only charcoal is permitted to be used in the provided outdoor raised grills.
- Before lighting a fire in the grill, ensure the provided fire bucket is nearby and full of water in case of an emergency.
- When finished using the grill(s) residents must fully extinguish the coals with water. Coals should not be left to smolder out under any circumstances.
Recreational fires for the purpose of recreation or personal enjoyment are permitted within the designated fire pit only.
- All recreational fires must be attended at all times by at least one responsible adult, age 18 or older, from the ignition of the fire until the fire is completely extinguished.
- Wood being burned in the fire pit must be cut to a length as not to exceed the pit dimensions.
- Fire should not extend more than 2 feet above the pit in free burn stage.
- No burning is allowed outside the containment area of the fire pit.
- Before lighting a fire in the fire pit, ensure the provided fire bucket is nearby and full of water in case of an emergency, and that there are no leaves or combustible materials around the fire pit.
- When finished using the fire pit residents must fully extinguish the fire with water. Fire should not be left to smolder out under any circumstances.
Safe use of fire pits and outdoor grills is the responsibility of the individual resident using the pit or grill who must consider weather conditions, fire risk, and other pertinent data before deciding to light an outdoor fire.
