Move In/Move Out Checklist

Review the Condo Bylaws

The Condominium Association Bylaws are the guidelines we use to live with one another in our community. It's important to familiarize yourself with these guidelines in order to be a good community member. You can read the Bylaws here.

Move-In/Move-Out

  • Review move-in guidelines: http://bit.ly/CCCmovein
  • Contact property manager to arrange move-in time and date (must take place between 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.) Pay non-refundable move-in fee to CCC of $250
  • Request from the city a permit ($50) to reserve space for your moving truck for the 3001-3140 block of Wisconsin Avenue:  https://tops.ddot.dc.gov/.  Parking is not allowed in the areas between buildings at the rear. Towing is enforced.
  • Do not leave exterior doors propped open and unattended during move-in/move-out. This is a security risk and can result in fines.
  • Afterward, please ensure that all boxes are flattened and placed inside recycling containers afterward, debris removed from hallway and external doors closed.  If your items are placed in the recycling containers unflattened, you will be fined $50

Contact Form

  • Fill out online at bit.ly/CCCcontact
  • Indicate which phone number should be linked to the outdoor call box or your building

Keys

  • If keys are changed (please note that CCC requires that owners preserve the original door handles), provide copy of keys to the property manager.
  • New fobs or keys to the back door & dog park can be purchased from the property manager.  Fobs are $25 and back door & dog park keys are $5.00

Recycling and Trash Removal

There are trash and recycling bins located near the rear entrances to every building.

3100 Units:  Please note that in 3100, the trash and recycling receptacles are located behind your building, facing the parking lot. Please do NOT use the bins located across from the back door; those are reserved for an apartment building that is not a part of Cathedral Court.

It is very important to recycle all recyclable items as trash removal is monitored closely by the District.  Please consult the attached form for a complete list of recyclable items. All recyclable items can be commingled and placed in the same receptacle.  We are required to break down all cardboard boxes and place them neatly in the recycling receptacles.

Please note: any items placed next to receptacles, whether flattened cardboard or discarded furniture, is considered by the District to be littering.  All items must be placed inside trash or recycling containers.  If this isn’t done a fee will be assessed to the resident in violation.

Any resident found leaving trash bags of any kind in the hallways will also be fined starting at $100

Cathedral Court has incurred several expensive fines resulting from these practices.  Any owner or resident who leaves items outside trash or recycling containers will be held responsible for any resulting fines incurred.

When you need to have larger items like furniture or appliances removed, you will need to make arrangements for that at your own expense. Please consult our resource list for charities and businesses that provide this service.
